So I like to make goals. I find goal setting fun. Usually, the thought process on goals is... "How can I be better?" I'm not sure that this is the healthiest mentality on goals - aren't we wonderful just the way we are? But self-improvement and self-betterment are not bad things... really.
Anyway, I had two goals at the beginning of the week. First, I would not go out to lunch. ALL WEEK. Second, I would do yoga every day. I was successful at only one goal. The other was a major fail. Can we guess?
I brought my breakfast and lunch AND snacks everyday. EVERY DAY. This is normally very hard work for me. It was still very hard work. But I did it. I almost didn't make it. I didn't bring anything to work today. But one of my very friendly, awesome co-workers brought me lunch and all I had to buy was a side of white rice to go with it. Total amount spent this week: $2.50. I think I'm ok with that.
I wanted to bring lunch in for two reasons. First, it's healthier. Second, it's cheaper. So, goal #1 - SUCCESS!
Yoga everyday didn't happen. At. All. I've been tired and lethargic and just not into doing yoga everyday. So I didn't But you know what? That's ok. 1 out of 2 is not bad. So I think I will continue the trend of two goals a week.
Next week, these are the two goals:
1. Exercise every day.
2. No Coca-cola (starting Sunday, ending Saturday evening).
They say it takes 21 days to creat a habit. Let's hope that the goal worked on so far, match that criteria.
